We were delighted to be asked to restore this sofa recently and reupholster using one of our favourite fabrics by GP & J Baker, Nympheus Linen in Stone and Pistachio from their timeless Crayford Collection. The pattern matching, frame repair and new goose feather filled base cushions show the skills of our talented upholsterers at their very best.
We are proud to announce the launch of the Clarissa Lady’s Chair.
The design for the Clarissa is inspired by the glamour of the Art Deco period and a nod to the days of luxurious state rooms and Noel Coward inspired elegance. Clarissa is a versatile bedroom chair ideal to sit up to a feminine dressing table or to be used as a practical and highly decorative side chair.
Here it is shown covered in Romo’s Linara pink fabric which is bang on trend.
Pink is an extremely flattering colour, warm and inviting. It has seen a tremendous increase in popularity as a key colour for home interiors. Pink is the new white – it goes with every colour and can be soothing and serene.

We are thrilled to see our work for the new Grille Restaurant in Lincoln's historic White Hart Hotel complete. The upholstered seating is looking great in the wonderful interior which was designed by the very talented Magari Interior Design who were fantastic to work with.This was part of a £100,000 refurbishment with over 95% of the work completed by talented companies within Lincolnshire.
We have been selected to produce 79 headboards for a new Student Hotel at University of Sheffield working with fellow Lincoln based company, Newell's Projects.
Jonas Court is to be fully refurbished to form a Student Hotel.There will be 60 en-suite bedrooms with shared self-catering facilities available for students to let on a flexible basis, 20 en-suite hotels rooms available for the public to let and shared communal facilities on the ground floor including informal café / lounge space, quiet study space and games areas.
We were thrilled to be asked by fellow Lincolnshire company Chiselwood (www.chiselwood.co.uk) to work with them again on creating upholstered seating for another of their luxury bespoke kitchen projects.
Our work now extends beyond Lincolnshire with a growing client base in London, the South East and South West. We also have clients with homes overseas who wish to commission us to ensure quality. We recently completed re-upholstery work for a client with a home in the South of France. We used some bold and vibrant fabrics in Orange and Pink from Linwood, Harlequin and William Yeoward.

We were delighted to be asked to create upholstered seating for the fabulous Lincoln Tap House recently. Wonderful food, craft beer, coffee and cocktails in a great location adjacent to Lincoln Castle.
We were honoured to be asked by Guy Martin's team to supply our luxury Aureus massage couch handmade by our skilled team of master upholsterers for our sister company, Aequum, to help Guy's body prepare for his recent successful world record Wall Of Death. Guy reached a speed of 78.15mph while driving on the biggest vertical Wall Of Death live on Channel 4 in a hangar in Lincolnshire. The maverick star of the Isle of Man TT broke his back in the Ulster Grand Prix last August which delayed the world record attempt until this year.

We really enjoyed being involved in the refurbishment of Barnsley's No1 Entertainment Centre, Barnsley Bowl, which has 16 BTBA Sanctioned lanes and using Lewis & Co Sunbury Design fabrics.
We were asked to create a unique family sofa by a private client for the tv area of a large farmhouse kitchen. The sofa took our cabinet makers and upholsterers two weeks to make by hand in our Lincoln workshop. The sofa is upholstered in Osborne & Little Corniche Bark Velvet with scatter cushions in GP&J Baker fabrics.
We were delighted to launch our newly refurbished showroom this month which now has a comprehensive fabric library displaying a vast selection of fabrics from the UK's leading fabric houses.
We also created a new Client Area with displays of accessories such as feet, castors, trimmings and scatter cushions to allow our clients to consider all the options available in comfort.
Our talented team of cabinet makers and French polishers completely restored this American Victorian rocking chair which we then upholstered in a geometric design by Warwick fabrics.
Luxury project for Bridget Reading Interior Design includes retro swivel chairs upholstered in Holly Hunt velvet Best Dressed Alexander from Fox Linton.
Delighted to be chosen by high end interior design company, Bridget Reading Interior Design, to produce bespoke deep buttoned headboard dimensions 2515mm w x 1650mm h in Raven leather by Moore and Giles.
We recently designed and produced a bespoke sofa and chair for the new Gusto Homes show home at The Edge development on the Lincolnshire Showground.
The Edge is a stunning example of how new low energy homes will be developed in the future. Gusto Homes have continued the local and eco theme for their show home by specifying high quality furniture and fittings sourced from local companies. The Edge development features three and four bed passive energy properties set in a 10-acre woodland estate overlooking two small lakes, with their own private tennis court, allotments and orchard.
We worked alongside Lincoln based interior designer, Katharine Armstrong-Short on the show home which is open to the public from 10:00am – 5:00pm every Thursday – Sunday.
The New York sofa features a solid oak base with natural wax finish, arms which un-bolt to allow ease of transportation.
The Fenton armchair is a classically proportioned library chair with clean Regency lines and walnut legs. The style is suitable for both a contemporary or traditional setting. Although the Fenton is a simple design it has been handcrafted to an exceptionally high standard. The seat and back are coil sprung on an English black and white webbing with horse hair and flock padding giving it a truly luxurious feel.

FIT FOR A LITTLE PRINCE
As part of our 30th year celebrations we have launched the Little Crowthers Collection of handcrafted upholstered children’s armchairs made from the finest materials.
Each chair is made in our Lincoln workshop and is hand built with a solid beech wood frame, high quality fillings and hand stitched back to create an item that can be passed down through generations.
Founder Edward Crowther was inspired by his growing collection of grandchildren to celebrate the milestone in business with the first design, known as Zac’s chair, to coincide with grandson Zac’s first birthday in 2014.
Little Crowthers chairs are available in any of the fabric collections from the extensive Crowther Fabric Library. Bespoke designs can also be created to a client’s specification to produce a scaled down version of a treasured chair or an entirely unique design to commemorate a special event.
Prices start from £495 plus 2 metres of material. Crowther & Sons is donating 10% of all Little Crowther profits in 2014 to the NSPCC.

RESTORATION OF ICONIC AMERICAN SOFA
Crowther & Sons were thrilled to be asked to restore a rare 70s American sofa by iconic designer, Milo Baughman. The team painstakingly restored the frame by hand and re-upholstered the classic sofa in a striking purple Bute Storr material.
VISIT TO DECOREX AUTUMN 2013
Edward, Ed Junior and Daniel all visited the international interior and fabric show, Decorex International at the end of September.
The stunning, historic venue that is Kensington Palace gardens makes the perfect new home for this prestigious four day event.
Decorex was bursting with inspiration. Leading names in the design world alongside new, emerging talent.
The Crowther team have now taken delivery of many new pattern books that caught their eye including new collections from Linwood, Harlequin, Ian Sanderson and new name, Boeme Design all available to view in the Crowther showroom.
The Journal magazine (Lincolnshire) visited the workshop and showroom recently and have written a lovely profile of the business in the October/November issue.
